What is Turmeric?
Formally known as Curcuma longa, turmeric is a perennial plant from the ginger family. The orange-yellow spice, used most notably in curry dishes, is produced by drying and grinding the rootstock of the plant. The rich hue and potential health benefits are due to the active component known as curcumin. Each bottle of Kovite Turmeric Root Extract contains 450 mg of turmeric root extract. The capsules are made from plant-based materials, making them suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Each bottle also contains: 5 mg of Black pepper fruit extract it contains a compound called Piperine, which has been shown to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin by inhibiting certain enzymes that break it down in the body. This can help to ensure that more of the curcumin is absorbed into the bloodstream and reaches its target tissues.
